IH Whistler is the best school I’ve ever been to. The ambiance is cool and friendly and it’s very good place to learn.
Cambridge FCE/CAE Preparation
The Cambridge First Certificate in English examination is offered 3 times per year. The small classes are conducive to maximum learning and provide friendly, individual attention for students.
It is recommended that students start the course 12 weeks prior to the examination date, however it is possible to join class up to 8 weeks prior to the exam date. The official examinations are offered in-house at the bigger IH Vancouver campus, a 2.5 hour drive away. The Whistler campus is small and friendly, and the local area provides an abundance of opportunity to take a break from studying with numerous recreational activities. Both winter and summer timetables are designed so students can make the most of the mountains through hiking, biking, skiing or snowboarding. The FCE Examination includes five specific areas of study:
- Reading (Paper 1), 1 hour 15 minutes
- Writing (Paper 2), 1 hour 30 minutes
- Use of English (Paper 3), 1 hour 15 minutes
- Listening (Paper 4), 40 minutes approx.
- Speaking (Paper 5), 14 minutes approx.
